OZONE Magazine announced that actor/comedian and star of Chappelle’s Show, Charlie Murphy, will host the Second Annual OZONE Awards presented by Defient Entertainment. The awards will take place on Monday, August 13, 2007 at the James L. Knight Center in Downtown Miami at 7PM. Roland Powell better known in the comedy and hip hop circuits as “Lil’ Duval” will also appear as the co-host alongside Murphy for the star-studded event. It will be the first time in OZONE Magazine awards show history that two comedians will preside over the event as hosts.

“Their presence is a great balance of entertainment.” says awards show co-executive producer, Thomas “TJ” Chapman, CEO of TJ’s DJ’s Inc. “Charlie and Lil’ Duval will have the crowd amused, while the performers will keep the crowd moving. It’s a perfect blend of today’s top talent and music’s hottest artists, which cements why this is the premiere hip hop awards show.”

Murphy is most noted for his famed roles as a star on “Chappelle’s Show” with David Chappelle and his resume includes roles in “Roll Bounce,” “Night At The Museum” and writing credits for the box office hit “Norbit.” Upcoming projects for Murphy include “A Perfect Christmas” with Queen Latifah and Gabrielle Union as well as a co-starring role in “Garbage Men,” Fox Searchlight’s spin-off of the hit film “Roll Bounce.”

Lil’ Duval is a Jacksonville, FL native, known for his witty punch lines and jokes of growing up in the South. When asked about fitting in amongst rappers, he replies, “…My comedy is based off of what’s going on in the hood, and that’s pretty much where most [of the] rappers are from. What makes jokes funny are the [topics] that you can relate to. So with that [in mind] my routine can’t help but fit.” Lil’ Duval is most known for his appearances on BET’s Comic View, and an abundance of rap music videos. His upcoming projects include a T.V pilot called “T.I. Presents: Grand Hustle Comedy” and a comedy album soon to be released entitled “Funniest Comic Alive.”

The show will air repeatedly on MTV Jams, Labor Day Weekend (September 1st – 3rd). The presenter/performance lineup for the awards show includes Rick Ross, T-Pain, Young Jeezy & USDA, Plies, Lil Wayne, Baby, Yung Joc, Hurricane Chris, Gorilla Zoe, Lloyd, Rich Boy, Fat Joe, Bun B, Shop Boyz, Trey Songz, Lil Scrappy, Trick Daddy and many others.
