Daddy Yankee, who wrote nine of the most award-winning songs including "Gasolina" and"Rompe," was also awarded Top Latin Song of the Year for "Lo Que Pasó Pasó" and the Top Song in the urban category for "Mayor Que Yo," making him the most awarded Reggaetón artist in the history of the genre.
Hosted by actress Maria Conchita Alonso, the event was held to honor the songwriters and publishers of ASCAP's most performed Latin Music in 2005. Performers and honorees for the evening included Yankee, Chingo Bling, Kool Aid and Lil Rob, among others.
