According to previous reports, Johnson approached Dre (real name is Andre Young) for an autograph as the rap mogul was set to receive a lifetime achievement award. Johnson then, seemingly without provocation, attacked Dr. Dre, which caused a huge fracas that included members of 50 Cent’s G-Unit.

According to police, G-Unit member Young Buck stabbed James Johnson after Johnson’s assault of Dre. Johnson suffered a collapsed lung in the aftermath of the attack and was immediately hospitalized. Young Buck awaits trial for the alleged stabbing, but has a pretrial motion on Sept. 26 at Airport Branch Courthouse in Santa Monica. A judge decree also prevents Johnson from going near Dr. Dre for three years into the future.
