We all know Eminem’s rise to success was a long one and along the way he put out several independent releases before his major debut album. Well one of the companies who Em had an early agreement with is suing Dr. Dre, along with Interscope Records for an undisclosed amount said to be in the millions for unpaid back royalties.

F.B.T. Productions which is owned by brothers Mark and Jeff Bass, signed Marshall to a deal back in 1995 which gave them exclusive rights to him and his music. When Dre came along with the Aftermath deal they of course had to work out an agreement with F.B.T., an agreement which the brothers are claiming is not being honored. F.B.T. was set to continue to receive royalty payments off of Eminem’s future record sales even though none of their services were going to be used. This may sound unfair to the uninitiated but this is standard practice since Em was signed to them first. Keep in mind if they really wanted to be dicks about it they could of never let him go off that contract, but they played nice.

In this case it looks like nice guys really do finish last as F.B.T. isn’t only saying that they have not seen any royalties but also that Interscope and Aftermath have actually tried to tax them! The brothers claim the labels charged them for production costs along with other expenses even though the contract that was agreed upon and signed called for the charges to come directly out of Eminem’s budget. The brothers are being represented by Los Angeles based attorneys Paul H. Duvall and Mark Block, whom are reported to be seeking a settlement rather than trial.

Sounds like Dre and Jimmy are gonna have to pay up on that one, there's not much you can say with a signed legal contract. If so those boys are gonna get broke off nicely, do you know how many records Em’s sold?!  Here is just another reminder in this game you have to keep your business tight people!
