Foxy Brown Released From Prison
Brooklyn rapper Foxy Brown has officially been released from prison today, April 18, after serving eight months of a 1 year sentence. As Foxy left, she greeted fans, the media and others who were outside the prison. Foxy said "This is a big day for me, to have everybody here that I love, my whole family, the whole Brooklyn, the officers that took care of me at Rikers. Eight months to the day, I remember going in in August and I said when I come out, I'm coming out even better. And I'm back baby, it's a wrap." Chazz Williams, Black Hand Entertainment CEO and Foxy’s Manager added "It's a beautiful day. I was out here when she went in and I'm here when she's coming out. You can expect big things from her and we won't be walking this path again any time soon." Foxy was sentenced to a year in New York's Riker's Island after violating her probation in connection with a 2004 assault charge. She was on probation for assaulting two manicurists in a Manhattan salon in 2004. She was warned by a judge in March 2007 that she would be sent to prison for a year if she got into any trouble with the law. Five months after the warning, Foxy was sentenced and incarcerated (Sept. 7) for assaulting her neighbor. Early conflicts in prison such as abusing a corrections officer, physical altercations with fellow inmates and refusing to provide a urine sample landed Foxy in the hole in the hole for misconduct. While she was initially supposed to serve 76 days in solitary confinement, she was released in 40 days for good behavior. Now that she was released, Foxy is preparing her 4th
studio album entitled ‘Brooklyn’s Don Diva’. She is also in talks to have her own reality show, just like every other rapper.
