Gillie Da Kid's manager recently issued a statement confirming her client's recent arrest while denying charges of the Philly bred rapper being a ringleader of a drug operation.

As previously reported , Gillie (born Sar'd Nasir) was arretested along with five other people Tuesday night (February 6) , after Philadelphia police and FBI officers discovered nearly half a million dollars worth of marijuana in two houses allegedly run by Gillie and his associates. "I am confirming the fact that Gillie was indeed taken into custody and arrested by the Philadelphia Police Department on Tuesday," Gillie's manager, Yanna B., said via a statement. "However, the charges are unwarranted and once Gillie has his day in court, we are confident that the evidence against him will prove to be false."

"The Philadelphia Police Department is clearly using Gillie's status as a hip-hop artist and entertainer to draw media attention to him. This was clearly a case of him being in the wrong place at the wrong time," she continued. "Gillie is in no way guilty of the charges brought against him and once all facts come to light, he will be fully exonerated." "He is in high spirits and wants to thank the whole hip-hop community for their support and well wishes during this time," she added.

Gillie has been making headlines lately for his ongoing feud with Cash Money's Lil' Wayne. He has released several diss songs against Weezy and claims that he ghostwrote many of his rhymes.

According to Yanna, Gillie recently signed an album deal with Babygrande Records to release "The Best of Gillie Da Kid Mixtapes" series. The first edition, Who's Really Stuntin'? will hit shelves on March 13.
