Over the past few weeks, the industry has been very interested in making Rick Ross part of their team. Ever since "Hustler Anthem" first debuted in Miami last year, it just blew up. It shut the city down. It took over Miami. A few months later, it took over the country. The bidding wars began for the hottest rapper from Miami, Rick Ross. Diddy wanted him so bad for Bad Boy that he took a shortcut and signed Ross as part of Boyz N Da Hood. Now Rick Ross has officially told me, the President of 305djs.com that he has found a new home, with Jay-Z and Def Jam.

After weeks of meetings with all different labels and flying back and fourth to New York, and then the meeting with Jay-Z last week, Rick Ross has made a decision and is close to signing with Jay-Z and Def Jam. Def Jam has been a force in the hip hop industry since it started in the early 80's. The roster at Def Jam since the 80’s includes LL Cool J, Run DMC, Jay-Z, DMX, Ludacris, Kanye West, Young Jeezy just to name a few. After I met with Rick Ross today, he told me that “Jay is ready to put up $1.5 million. He’s ready to shoot the video and everything.” The papers haven't been officially signed yet, but the deal should be complete in a few days.

Be sure to check back with 305djs.com when we will have the EXCLUSIVE interview with Rick Ross after the deal is done.
