RICK ROSS "TRILLA"

"The album of the year!" That is how Miami boss Rick Ross has been touting his sophomore set when promoting it. Backed with big production by The Runners, Cool N Dre, J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, DJ Toomp, Mannie Fresh and J.R. Rotem, the album gives listeners another ride through the grimy yet flashy streets of Miami. The first single "Speedin" featuring R. Kelly has been burning up the charts the last two months and the T. Pain assisted "The Boss" is now picking up steam as well. Ross said he picked the album title after one of his all time favorite albums, Michael Jackson's Thriller. The album also has blazin features by the hottest in the game including Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy, T.Pain, and fellow Miami native Trick Daddy. IF you liked Port of Miami, you are gauranteed to love "Trilla"

SNOOP DOGG "EGO TRIPPIN"

The Doggfather's ninth cd, "Ego Trippin" is another funky ride through the world of Snoop Dogg. Lead by the single Sensual Seduction, Ego is a smoother set of songs from Snoop. Snoop said he originally named the album Ego Trippin because he felt he didn't  need any guests to help him hold up the album. "I'mma do the whole record, me by myself. I don't want no guest rappers, no singer, nothing. Just Snoop Dogg. I want you to feel me." Well it looks like things didn't go to plan as the album does have features from Kurupt, Mistah Fab, and DJ Quik. The Neptunes and legend Teddy Riley handle the bulk of the production.

FAT JOE "ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM"

NY rap legend Fat Joe returns once again with his latest release "Elephant in the Room". Although it may seem like an obvious reference to his size Joe said there is a deeper meaning behind the album title. "With hip-hop music, I been in the game for 14 years...I've come with so many hits and been so consistent and got better and better, but I still see nobody bigs me up like, 'Joe's one of the hottest n---as.' Even though it's right in your face. The elephant is right in your face. Even though I keep hitting you with #1 hits. How could you ignore this? That's pretty much how I came up with the [album] title. When you think about some of your favorite rappers, a lot of n---as sell off of the hype of what they brought to the table before. A lot of our favorite rappers haven't had a hit in years. I keep coming. Real talk. I'm being real." Indeed Joey does crank out the hits and this CD is no different. Starting out smooth for the ladies, the single "I won't tell" featured R&B star J. Holiday and won big on both radio and MTV. The rest of the set isn't so delicate though as Joey brings out heavy weights like Plies, Lil Wayne, and even the legendary KRS-ONE. The production list is nothing to sneeze at either with big names like Scott Storch, Cool N Dre, DJ Khaled, and DJ Premier. Premier produced the next single off the set "Thank God For That White", which is an obvious ode to Joey's love for the sale of cocaine. Check out the Elephant In The Room.
