On The Clock Report: June 18, 2007
Eminem has more to say about Mariah Sources say Eminem is in the works of his next upcoming album. After a couple years of being dormant from the music industry, Slim Shady is back, but this time his lyrics are more personal. We’re all use to the controversial lyrics that have caused Eminem to always shine in the spotlight, from comments about Bush to basically detailing how he plans to murder his wife, and then the references on his quick relationship with multi-Grammy winning R&B singer, Mariah Carey in past records. Apparently on his new album he plans to include more lyrics containing Carey, but in a more intimate detailing matter. The New York Dally News recently reported that, “Mariah wishes she could sue Eminem for slander, but it’s his freedom of speech.” Mariah Carey is looking towards music exec, Antonio “L.A.” Reid, for additional support on this issue. I’m interested to know, does Eminem and his board of execs call a meeting and come together where they all sit in a room contemplating what Shady should start controversy over next, if so, then his board of execs are definitely a group of business geniuses and deserve Grammy’s themselves.
Back in October of 2006, Fabolous was arrested of illegal weapons possession after an incident occurred that left him with a minor gunshot wound to the thigh. The artist and three others were accused of carrying two loaded weapons later found in the car they were driving. Officials say they were the target of a robbery that involved both Fabolous and Boston Celtics point guard Sebastian Telfair. On Thursday, June 14, 2007, the recently signed Def Jam artist had all charges dismissed by a federal judge in New York. After an investigation into the incident later showed that lack evidence could not prove that either gun belonged to Fabolous or the other three accused, the charges were dropped and Fabolous walks away from it clean and free. I got one question, if those guns were his or not, what the hell was Fabolous trying to prove? I really don’t think going to prison would have raised his street credibility. Between him and The Game, take some good advice, calm ya’ll asses down and just sell records without all the drama.
The Ill Na Na has been in and out trouble for the past two years for several incidents that landed her probation in the first place. After looking over her past recorded passed drug tests and well-kept appointments, the judge restored her probation into good standing allowing Foxy to complete her sentence without any further complications from the system, unless otherwise noted, putting a smile on her face and reportedly thanked the judge. Whenever the name Foxy Brown comes up, the question always arises, didn’t she get the shit kicked out of her last year in Miami and on top of that damaging million dollars worth of equipment? Now that is some funny shit.
The ghetto harmonizing vocalist records a song that apologizes to the nation that addresses his actions in Trinidad, telling his audience to blame him for everything. Akon admits to his wrong-doings and states it in several lyrics addressed towards the 14 year old girl and her family. Verizon later withdrew his sponsorship and dropped him from the tour. The song leaked to the internet several days ago, under the title “Sorry, Blame It on Me.” You can also check it out in our download section here at 24hourhiphop.com. Well at least he’s being a man about it and formally apologizing to a whole list of people. The question is now, will this break his career or would it not even cause a wrinkle in time? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
