The Clipse and Jive have been in and out of court rooms, because the record label acquired the group through a merger with Arista Records.
Jive has refused to release the group from the contract and has put no effort into promoting or releasing material from the duo.
The record label has been reluctant to get into details with the press.

Relation Between Pharell and Jive Records Gets Worse
The Virginia lyricists have kept their names out there by consistently releasing mixtapes through their, We Got It 4 Cheap series. Pharrell's solo debut In My Mind, will hit stores in February.
