On Wednesday, August 8, 2007, Miami Carol City Senior High School hosted one of the biggest events of the summer as part of the pivotal Miami Hip-Hop movement. With several celebrities in attendance, including the whole Poe Boy Family, it was a great turn out and a most enjoyable afternoon for both parents and children as they got to indulge in free food, free back to school supplies, and the excitement of seeing their favorite artists in concert. This is how Rick Ross and Poe Boy give back to the community in style.

Through Rick Ross Charities and Magic Johnson’s Burger King Restaurants, they bought you the First Annual Be Out Day. Miami Carol City Senior High provided the location for this extravagant event and gave kids a good reason to go back to school. The saying was: “Pushing Education to the Limit”. Giving a more positive message to the community and getting out there to provide the supplies and the musical inspiration to help prepare for the upcoming school year was definitely the genuine idea. With the help of several friends in the industry and local artists, they provided an excellent show to a crowd of excited kids and thankful parents. This was definitely a day they will not forget.

The show was hosted by Larry Dogg as he kept the crowd hype introducing local talent before the headliners made their way to the stage. Carol City’s own, Lil Brianna, finalized the opening acts which included David Lyn, Anjuli Stars, Stack$ and others,  with her rendition of Eve’s Tambourine going directly into her own hit single, “Is You Yellin’?” She even had time to acapella a couple of lyrics before preparing the crowd for Yung Joc and Gorilla Zoe, the newest member of Boyz N’ Da Hood. They performed their hit songs "Hood Figga" and Yung Joc’s “Coffee Shop.” As soon as the major artists of Block Entertainment and Bad Boy South made their imprint in Carol City there was no doubt that Poe Boy was about to rock the stage. Flo Rida entertained the crowd and got them hype on his new single “Low”, transcending into the “Birthday Remix” which featured Brisco. The Opa Locka Goon made his own imprint as he performed his hit single “I’m in da Hood” to a crowd of definite Brisco fans. DJ Khaled alongside Cool & Dre, made their presence on stage known as the hit single “We Takin’ Over” added great appeal to the reason why We the Best. Rick Ross and Triple C most definitely made a grand finale as they performed “Hustlin” and the new hit single from the same title of the new album, “Trilla.” Gunplay and Torch made their presence known and proved to their city, that Carol City can’t be touched. The Chiefs was definitely on the homefront of Dade County that day.

Check back later today as we will have new phots of the entire day in our photo gallery.
