Sara Stokes of Da Band Pleads Innocent to Assault Charges,DJ AM�s Death May Have Been a Suicide

I know that everyone has heard about former Da Band singer, Sara Stokes and that awful incident with her husband which resulted in him filing assault charges against her. For those who weren’t aware, Mrs. Stokes was accused of allegedly stabbing her husband during an argument that took place on August 2, 2009. Contact Music reports:

“The former singer from Diddy's MTV reality show "Making the Band 2" has once again made the cut -- but cops say this time Sara Stokes was using a knife ... to stab her own husband. Sara stormed out of the house after arguing with husband Tony -- she tripped, fell down and accused him of doing it. We're told Sara -- who hurt her head in the fall -- grabbed a knife and stabbed Tony in the arm -- while their 3 kids watched. Paramedics and cops came and Stokes was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and domestic violence. The D.A. is deciding whether to charge her.”

Now however, according to TMZ, Stokes is denying the accusations and even appeared early Friday morning in Riverside County Court, which is located in California. TMZ reports:

“The former MTV reality star pled not guilty to assault with a deadly weapon Friday morning in Riverside County Court in California. It's unclear what exactly happened between Sara and her husband last month, because we've been told two completely different versions of what actually went down. Sara claims her husband accidentally cut himself in the sink -- while cops believe she went on a stabbing frenzy after the two got into a verbal altercation.”

We’ve all gotten a chance to see a bit of their volatile relationship on MTV’s Making The Band, but no one ever expected it to go this far. Especially with Stokes being the one charged with assault. For those who watched the show, Sara’s husband had the overbearing, domineering husband type of attitude. Perhaps she just finally got tired of it? Who knows? Well Stokes has yet to comment on this issue nor has her husband. I don’t know about everyone else but I just find it awkward that it seems that everyone who signs with Bad Boy has something crazy happen to them. Maybe it’s a coincidence, or not. We will keep everyone informed on this issue.

DJ AM’s Death May Have Been a Suicide

There has recently been a shocking update released regarding DJ AM’s death. Apparently a few law enforcement officals have been suggesting that DJ AM’s death may have very well been a suicide. Reports say that AM swallowed several painkillers prior to his untimely death. A source told People Magazine that DJ AM wanted to die. People reports:

"He wanted to die," says the source, who says the suicide theory is supported by the pills and other evidence. "He was going unconscious when he took the last one. He didn't even swallow it. Also, a mirror was propped inside the door to the apartment and another inside the door of the bedroom, where Goldstein's body was located in the bed, the source says. When the police, Goldstein's manager and paramedics entered together, they pushed the first mirror to the side. When they entered the bedroom, the mirror propped against the door shattered. "They pushed it open and it broke," the source says.”

AM was found dead last Friday, August 28th, 2009 in possession of several prescription drugs. According to the New York Daily News:

“The 36 year-old ex-fiance of Nicole Richie, whose real name is Adam Goldstein, was discovered in bed wearing only sweatpants at his $2 million SoHo pad and a near-empty bag of crack stuck to his chest, sources said. Investigators found a glass crack pipe in his bedroom and at least seven bottles of prescription drugs on his kitchen counter, including the anti-anxiety drug Xanax, sources said. Goldstein was on his stomach with the bag of crack underneath him, suggesting he rolled on top of it before he died, a source said.”

Some may remember DJ AM from that tragic plane crash back in September of 2008 which took place in Columbia, South Carolina after performing a T-Mobile sponsored show in the Five Points area. He and former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker escaped death but were both critically injured in the crash while four other passengers were killed.

For all of his family and close friends, a memorial will be held for AM on September 3, 2009. E! Online reports:

“A celebratory memorial will be held for Goldstein Thursday night at the Hollywood Palladium, which last October was the site of DJ AM's first performance following the plane crash that he and Travis Barker survived. The format of the evening will be in the style of an open 12-step meeting. Adam's friends both from his life in recovery, as well as those from other areas of his life are welcome. We ask only that everyone adhere to the tradition of anonymity and let what they hear there, and who they see there, stay there."
