It seems like rapper Shyne just can’t get a break. After spending nearly a decade in jail, he will have to flea the United States. There has been much speculation in whether Shyne will get deported to Belize or remain here in the United States. Radio personality Angie Martinez recently spoke with Shyne and revealed on-air certain information regarding their conversation. She spoke to Miss Info in a radio interview regarding his status.

HipHopDX reports:

"They're holding him to be deported. He's in a fight right now," she noted, adding that he is getting help from Harvard Professor Charles Ogletree. "They are hoping to get a pardon from the governor." "As of now, he's going to have to go back to Belize," she noted, adding that the "fight" is to come back to the United States soon after the deportation.  Martinez also added that letters from fans in support of Shyne can go to Governor Patterson."I do know that even one of the victims in the case has spoken up to allow him to stay here because he's been very cooperative in the civil suit," she added. Martinez went on to note that Shyne's strength will get him through this. "Shyne is one of the strongest people I know and he’s handling this situation just as I’d expect him to. It must be frustrating for all of his friends and family; he served his time, and keeps getting all these different dates and conflicting information. But he’s a soldier, he’s dealing with it."

I mean damn, doesn’t Diddy have the key to the city? I know he has some pull. Part of this in my opinion is his fault; I’m thinking he needs to start making some phone calls and quick. Damn this is not a good look for Shyne. Hopefully he will get that pardon because Belizean rap? Nah I just couldn’t see that going down.

No further information has been released about this situation. Shyne has yet to make an official statement. We’ll keep you updated as information becomes available.

Lil Wayne's Felony Gun Case Continues With New DNA Hearing

Just when you thought he was in the clear; we have found that Lil Wayne’s 2006 felony gun case is far from over.  For those who are a little behind, a New York judge previously decided to re-open a case hearing regarding a weapon found on Wayne’s tour bus back in 2007. The case was re-opened when the judge allegedly caught wind of a conversation Wayne had with a police officer. MTV reported:

“Wayne appeared before a Manhattan Superior Court Judge for his gun-possession charge stemming from a 2007 arrest, but did not speak as his lawyer filed a motion for additional discovery that will see the arresting officer called into court. His legal team and the state's attorney met with the judge in private last week and it was determined the hearing of the original witnesses would be reopened.”

Over the summer it was reported that Wayne hired a former FBI geneticist to aide in proving his innocence. According to the New York Post:

“Lil Wayne is hoping Bruce Budowle will get him off the hook for the .40-caliber semiautomatic cops grabbed from his tour bus near Columbus Circle two years ago. Wayne has hired him in hopes of challenging the DNA test that matched him to cells swabbed off the gun. Budowle is set to argue that, with too few cells to test conventionally, Manhattan prosecutors relied instead on a problematic test called low copy number typing, according to court papers.”

Ok now that we’ve got you caught up to date; today Lil Wayne was in court for a DNA hearing to determine whether or not DNA will be used. The Associated Press reports:

“Lil Wayne is appearing in a Manhattan courtroom, but DNA science is taking center stage. A hearing on a DNA profiling technique used in the rapper's 2007 gun-possession case started Wednesday. It concerns a process used for identifying people from tiny amounts of DNA -- including some that prosecutors say ties the Grammy Award-winner to a gun found on his tour bus after a concert. The hearing aims to establish whether what's known as low copy number DNA profiling has general scientific acceptance.”

More details landed online later today via E! Online.

"They started Frye hearings regarding the DNA sample taken from the gun. It is a discussion about [scientific] evidence and the evidence being discussed is a sample of DNA," Manhattan  District Attorney's Office spokeswoman Tracy Golden explains to E! News. Wayne's defense attorney, Stacey Richmond, is expected to dispute prosecutors' assertions that the profiling system, which is based on a low copy number, is accepted by the scientific community”

So the question still remains. Will they decide to use DNA or not? If DNA used, could that very well help or hurt Lil Wayne when it comes to this felony case? I know everyone is sitting on pins and needles regarding this situation (Note: Sarcasm). No further information has been released and Lil Wayne has yet to make an official statement regarding the DNA hearing. Stay tuned!
