The Movement Continues To Move
Read 1780 Times Since Posted on 0000-00-00 At the top of 2006, Miami was making a major buzz in the music industry. Rick Ross had a huge hit song with "Hustlin" that started picking up across the country and eventually landed him a deal with Def Jam Records and the release of his album ' Port of Miami.' DJ Khaled had his hit single "Holla At Me" that featured Lil Wayne, Paul Wall, Fat Joe, Rick Ross & Pitbull gaining success on airwaves as well. Dre from Cool-N-Dre had his hit song "Chevy Ridin High" featuring Rick Ross make a buzz as well. As the 2006 continued, more and more labels were looking for talent down in the MIA because of the Movement that started. Brisco from Poe Boy Entertainment signed his major deal with Ca$h Money Records and other Florida artist such at P.M., Smitty, and Plies have been in talks with labels or gearing up to drop their debut. The Movement continues to move into 2007 as Poe Boy Entertainment's latest acquirement, Flo-Rida, signs with one of the music industries premiere labels, Atlantic Records. Flo-Rida has been making a huge buzz in the last months by dropping his mixtape 'It's A Done Deal' and his street record 'Don't Get Fucked Up' featuring Rick Ross & Brisco. Flo-Rida was brought to Poe Boy Entertainment by his manager J-Freezy. Freezy knew he had a secret weapon in his hand and had to unleash it onto the world. He knew there was only one label to help power this secret weapon in Flo-Rida, and that was Poe Boy. After signing Flo-Rida, it was time to take it to the next level. After meeting with the powers that be aka 'The Movement' and discussing how to implement Flo-Rida into the industry, it was time to search for the right powerhouse label that would be able to continue to the strength of the Miami Movement. After creating a buzz and industry executives feeling very strong about Flo-Rida and his talents, a bidding war between various labels including TVT, Def Jam and Atlantic began with everyone trying to get their hands on Flo-Rida. After some months, it was time to pick a home, and that home is Atlantic Records. Be sure to watch out in 2007 as the Miami Movement continues to move on
and only get stronger. Congratulations to Flo-Rida, Poe Boy Entertainment and
Atlantic Records.
