Young Jeezy Wants to Make his Own 'Hottest MCs' List, Black Dada Featured in Miami Herald
Young Jeezy Wants to Make his Own ‘Hottest MCs’ List New York, NY – The Atlanta MC has been on the up and up as of late and his media headlines have been quite positive. From many different reports, Young Jeezy’s shows on the ‘America’s Most Wanted Music Tour’ have been quite an amazing experience. On those shows, he has been bringing on special guest appearances that have always caused a major stir amongst the huge crowd in attendance. His performances have been said to memorable and talked about for days. MTV has put together the ‘Hottest MCs’ List for the past several years and has always brought on huge debates and conversations within the list of MCs they seem to put together amongst Hip-Hop's most dedicated fans. 2009 is still in the works and people are wondering if Young Jeezy has what it takes to make it on the list, or even the Top 5. At the same time, however, his arch nemesis, Gucci Mane, has also been considered. It was reported that his ‘The Recession’ was one of the best albums of 2008. Jeezy recently spoke with MTV News about the ‘Hottest MCs’ list that they’ve put together annually and stated that he wanted to put together his own list for the world to debate upon entitled ‘Hood’s Hottest MCs’ and include the realest street lyricists in game today. He would even go as far as arranging a hood conference with some of his rap friends to discuss the artists that should make the list. These were his comments to MTV News about the list: “Even with me, when y'all first put in the bracket, some people think different. Some people wanna be a lyricist. Me, I wanna be real. It's gotta be different categories.” He continues to state that you could be real and not be hot: “You can, there's a lot of cats that do. You gotta get that list though. There's a lot of cats underground you might not even know about that everybody listens to.” Before he ended his interview, Jeezy didn’t fail to give some interesting advice to the staff that puts together the list stating that legends shouldn’t be put side by side with younger artists: “You shouldn't put a Nas on there or a KRS-One. That's crazy to put those cats in the same category. They think differently. That's why we should do mine. ... It's gonna cause more controversy than you think. People gonna be calling being like, 'He ain't really like that.'” At press time, MTV’s ‘Hottest MCs’ of 2009 is still being drafted as we speak, hopefully this list comes out better than last year’s.
