Mazzarati
The Dirty South has always been a breeding ground for up and coming artists' making it huge in the mainstream. Industry execs know that talent in the south is emerging every minute, giving full evidence that Hip-Hop will never die. With an array of artists developing new genres, delivering different messages, and basically getting the attention of the streets, it is only a matter time when their name starts circulating across cities. Deep within the heart of Miami, three young artists are getting that attention, circulating that flare; K-Parn, SpotLyte, and Fee comprise the group simply known as one esteemed name, I introduce you to the boys of Mazzarati. Let me step back and let these three boys bring the noise. I caught up with Mazzarati at Boss Studios in the outskirts of North Miami where 24hourhiphop.com got a chance to interview the name that's been echoing through the hoods. This an exclusive interview that you will only see here.
24: First off, how's everything with ya'll boys? K-Parn: We good, trying to get shit poppin with this music. Fee: Chillin' like ice, you know how we do. Like my nigga, Gorilla Zoe said, we just trying to make a joog. SpotLyte: Shit, I'm just chillin', you know vibin', leaning off of that Remy Martin VSOP 24: What inspired you to get into the music industry? K-Parn: I mean the talent that I have, as well as the talent that I'm surrounded by I want the world to know and hear what we got. Fee: You know, we've just been blessed with the talent to make good music, so we're doing this for the world to hear. SpotLyte: Well,
I've always love music ever since I can remember I been singing songs and
banging on walls, tapping desks, but when I first heard Trick (Daddy) say, You don't know nan nigga, I just wanted to have
my song jam like that. 24: As a child growing up, we all have role models and rappers that we listen, name some of yours? K-Parn: Oh man, let's see, Mystikal, Trick Daddy, Cash Money, Timbaland, I got some old school in me too, The O'Jays, Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, and Earth, Wind, and Fire. You know I gotta jam that old school as well. Fee: You already know, Jay-Z, my nigga, Snoop Dogg, the No Limit Soldiers, everybody was a soldier, and of course them Cash Money Hot Boys and all them Hip-Hop Pioneers, I grew up on them boys right there. 24: Describe the history behind Mazzarati and how all of this came together.K-Parn: It basically started in middle school me and Fee teamed up, I was doing the beats and he was doing the rapping. Shortly after that, we picked up SpotLyte and it was on and popping. 3 to 4 years down the line we formed a group called Mazzarati. It was a fourth member, but we not gone get into dat. This is where we are right now. Fee: I came up with the name and at the time I going to use it for my mixtape, But K-Parn was like, "Man, that's exactly what we are, Fly Flashy Ass Niggas, hand me a wet nap (Laughs). So we kept it and this is who we are Mazzarati. SpotLyfe: Well for me, at first it was Uncle Luke, he put Dade on the map and you know Trick set the city on fire and when cash money and No Limit came out it changed the way these people hustle, shit was real. 24: What do you plan on bringing to the game that sets you apart from other rap artists trying to make it in the game? K-Parn: Good music, fun music, vibe music, that stick n roll music with a bottle of Zephyrhills! (Laughs) if you know what mean. That gangsta music don't work for everybody, besides just cause I'll bus a nigga in his shit, personally don't mean I'm gonna rap about it. I'm in it to win it, I'm going where the cash at. Fuck the critics. That's how I see it. Fee: Brand new shit! Creativity, nowadays it's just something you gotta have. I feel like my nigga Juelz (Santana), Mazzarati is what the game's been missin'. SpotLyte: I do what I know how to and that's make good music, that's it. 24: What producers are you working with now and what style of music do you plan on hitting them with? K-Parn: Well right now, we only working with the super producer, K-Parn, that's me. That's right, I do it all, besides I'm in the group, so only I know the vibe and direction we're trying to get at. The rest we'll worry about later. Fee: So far, like K-Parn said, him, and oh yeah, Hitmann, MO-X, and S-R, but you can check back on that later. SpotLyte: That's real. 24: Plug the songs that you got rotating out there right now and explain the message you are trying to deliver. K-Parn: Drink, smoke, fuck hoes, and just have fun, that's the message we delivering! Life is already crazy as it is. Shit fucked up out here, niggas dying and getting locked up for nothing! There's niggas I know that's locked up for straight bullshit. Fee: Right now, we got the Oodle Noodlez track in heavy rotation, the hottest dance song on the planet, check it out. SpotLyfe: Just like K-Parn said, but it's like real life music, something that everybody will listen to, you feel me. 24: How is the mixtape game going and when do we get to see an album grace the world? K-Parn: The mixtape scene looking real good for us. We got one out with DJ J called More than a Movement Vol.3 and three in the making. The 2nd mixtape is gonna be a classic it's gonna be with DJ Smallz, you know that southern smoke shit. But on the album tip, we should have that out by Fall of 2008.
