24: Who influenced you to want to rap?
Murph: As far as rappers in the game, Jay-Z. But my motivation is my family, you know what I mean, just providing for them and myself so I wouldn’t have to live from check to check. My producer Alion also played a huge role in my decision to rap. He put the pen & pad in my hand and pushed me at times when I wanted to give up.

24: What do you feel you bring to the game with your music?
Murph: Well, my music is mainly discussing the struggle and anything dealing with my life related situations I have been through or seen from someone very close to me. It’s not your normal songs you hear when you turn on the radio I’m trying to make music for the soul that’s missing in the game right now.

24: Since you are not signed yet, what label would be the ideal situation for you right now?
Murph: I’m trying to start off independently, therefore when labels are interested they see that I have my own fan base and what I have accomplished by myself, but I’m feeling Def Jam right now with the moves they have been making. I think they could put me in the position I want to be in.

24: Tell me about your mixtape you have coming out?
Murph: My mixtape consist of all the songs I have been recording for the past year. All the production was done by my man Alion of Hall-Of-Fame ENT. If you never heard of him, you will soon. As far as features, I decided to keep it to a minimum and let people get familiar with me but I have my man Eddie Kane who is also apart of Hall-Of-Fame Ent., and Webbz who is featured on a song with me that was produced by Ron Lawrence. The mixtape is hosted by Prime Legend and I’m excited about it because this is my introduction to the world so everyone look out for that coming soon.

24: What are your top five albums?
Murph: My top five albums are Illmatic-Nas, Blueprint-Jay-Z, All Eyez On Me-2Pac, Ready To Die-B.IG, and East 1999-Bone Thugs.

24: What artist or producers would you like to work with in the future?
Murph: I’m willing to work with anyone that’s about there grind and wants to do real music, not that water down shit. But as far as producers, I like what The Runners are doing and I would love to work with the legend DJ Premier.

24: Even with the light being shined on Miami right now do you as an unsigned artist still find it difficult to get signed?

Murph: Yes I do find it real difficult still plus you have everyone and their mother rapping these days, plus throw in the politics a lot of things in this game is who you know more then just talent. I have learned that you can have the best songs in the world in your home studio up in Pro Tools and if you don’t have the right contacts, you won’t get the time of day from these DJ’s so that’s why it’s important for website’s like 24hourhiphop showing support to the up an coming artist as well as the known.

24: With so many mixtapes out, how is yours different from any other?
Murph: My mixtape is different because I’m an artist that people are not familiar with. My music can’t be compared to the music that’s coming out at the moment. It’s different in so many ways and the people will see that when “In My Pocket” comes out.

24: How can someone get in contact with you?
Murph: They can hit me up on www.myspace.com/rtm4dafame.

24: Any last words?
Murph: The mixtape will be out soon. It’s called “In My Pocket” hosted by Prime Legend. I want to thank everyone that has been supporting me. DJ Wrek, Ramzee, Unc, Webbz, Hall-Of-Fame Ent., Dem Bottom Boyz, Lord Zoe, Ly, and last but not least the whole Miramar. I’m Fairway representing all day long.
