Nicki Minaj: It feels awesome I’m honored.

24: When did you first start Rapping?
 

Nicki Minaj: It’s been a while now I’ve been rapping for like 5 years seriously 2 and half years ago is when I really started creating a buzz threw 'The Come Up' DVD Series.

24: How would you describe your style?

Nicki Mianj: I’d Have to say my style is on some swagged out girl power.

24: Growing up what artists inspired you?

Nicki Minaj: All the female rappers really but growing up I was a huge Jay Z fan.

24: Besides being one of today’s hottest female underground mix tape artist’s can we be expecting an album from you in the near future?

Nicki Minaj: Absolutely I cant wait to give that to people. I’m glad they stuck with me enough time to create a buzz and get a fan base, definitely expect the album. I’m in the process of closing a deal once the deal is done the single will be out followed by the album. It won't be out this year but we're looking at somewhere in the first quarter of next year stay tuned.

24: You are always looking fresh and sexy do you think of yourself as a sex symbol?

Nicki Minaj: Thank you. (Smiles) Not really I like to look at myself as the girl next door. Lol.

24: How did you get your name?

Nicki Minaj: Well my real name is Miraj so I just put two and two together and came up with Minaj but I hate these bitches!!!

24: Tell me a bit about your latest mix tape “Beam Me Up Scotty” and what does the title stand for?

Nicki Minaj: Well I was working on this song one day in the studio tired as hell when I told the engineer beam me up Scotty and everyone started laughing it kind of stuck with me that day. The track I was doing at the time needed a bridge and I decided to use that saying. The record was the only reggae type on the mi tape it ended up coming out hot and I just decided to call that the name of the mixtape as well. Ever since then I’ve felt like I’ve been beamed up.

24: Besides music I know you are involved in films and acting tell me a bit about that.

Nicki Minaj: I started acting in school it was my major I did a lot of theater. I’m looking forward to using those skills in the future I’ve already been reading a few script but nothing has caught my attention I’m waiting for the perfect role.
