Prime Legend
24: Introduce yourself to the readers and let them know who is Prime Legend? Prime Legend: The name is Prime Legend, the Boss of Broward aka the Pillzbury Zoe Boi coming out of Miramar, East of 27th Avenue that is. I got to let that be known because people think we rich up here! Come to my hood in Fairway playboy, ain't nothing rich about us! 24: How long have you been doing music and tell me some of the things you have done so far? Prime Legend: I've been doing music for quite sometime now. I would have to say since 1999 I really began to take things seriously. I've worked with a few local labels in the past like Iconz but nothing ever panned out. In 2000, I bounced to New York and began working with a small management company performing shows all over the tri-state area and struck the ear of a A&R from Jive Records for a single deal for a song I had called "Loving You" but because of sample clearances it never happened. I moved to Atlanta in 2001 and worked hard with some of my niggas Major City Entertainment in efforts once again to get a deal but was denied both times by Jazze Pha and Jermaine Dupri. Now I'm back in South Florida grinding the mixtape scene hard with Southern Xposure Vol.1 hosted by Reddi Ray! I got another one I'm working on with DJ Krunch One, and of course Southern Xposure Vol.2 with Shadyville DJ's own DJ Woogie and I'm pushing my single "Dem White Pants" out there hard! 24: What would you say separates you from other artist in the game? Prime Legend: They don't have what I have and that's the best of both worlds! I'm born in Brooklyn but I been here since crack came out, like '88 big homie! So my flavor can differ entirely. There's nothing I can't spit on! I love that east coast shit and that down south shit! So I put them together and created a monster! My swagger is a combination of both lifestyles. I could be custom Air Forces and fresh button down one day and the next I'm in Dickies and a thermal with some Jays on ya dig! I'm the best!! Fuck what ya heard! Believe that! 24: Who are some of the producers you are currently working with and who are some producers in the game you think you would work well with? Prime Legend: Well for one I got my man M-Rell with whom I have a minor production deal with trying to get me a deal with Atlantic right now and of course my young nigga Midus of GoldenChyld Productions is a beast! He produced my smash hit single "Dem White Pants"! I'm also working with BTB, Mike Jax, and a few others! Man a few producers I would like to work with in the game…I would have to say definitely Timbaland, J.R Rotem, The Neptunes, Jazze Pha, DJ Nasty, Kane Beats, Just Blaze, Kanye West, J-Roc, oh and definitely Shawty Red and Drummer Boy! 24: How are the DJ's treating you so far when it comes to playing your music? Prime Legend: Man, it has been a bit of hell but that comes with the game! Ain't shit in life free but I'm getting a few in pocket! DJ Krunch One always showed love. DJ Wrek, DJ Freddy Fred, the whole Street League, DJ Cox, DJ Epps, and a few others! Mainstream is a bit hard to crack unless you got that real money behind you…LOL, but that don't matter to me! The streets come first! Lock down the streets and you'll end up forcing that hand! When it get to a point people calling for that song on 99JAMZ or Power 96, believe me, they will come! LOL! 24: Rick Ross, Flo Rida, Plies, DJ Khaled, Cool & Dre, Triple C's, Brisco, C-Ride, have been making moves to further The Movement in Florida but a lot of talent is still not being heard why do you think that is when the talent is there? Prime Legend: All I'm going to say is politics! POLITICS, POLITICS, POLITICS!!!!! No one wants to hear that shit but it's politics! No matter where you go there is this inner circle and if you aren't part of that inner circle you're screwed until you either crack it and become a part of it or you against it! Either way your going to make some noise but when going against it means your actual mainstream radio play can be in jeopardy, niggas get smart and try to find ways to get in that inner circle! Some make it and some don't! You got to have that heat for the streets and keep pushing it to the limit like Ross! Ross dissed 99JAMZ and look at him now! Ross what dey do my nig! 24: Tell me about some up and coming projects your working on? Prime Legend: I'm working on 2 mixtapes right now. One I mentioned earlier with DJ Krunch One called "Silver or Lead"(Fuck Nigga Free Edition). The other one is Southern Xposure Vol.2 with Shadyville DJ, DJ Woogie! An of course my street album, "Legend in the Making"! 24: Any last words? Prime Legend: Yea, any producers interested in working with me on any of my up and coming projects please e-mail me at primesosik@gmail.com or www.myspace.com/primelegendthemayor. Also I want to give a shout out to my nigga Beazee the whole Legendary Music Group, Lord Zoe, Webbz, & Freddy B, Collect Gang, Murph, Eddie Kane, M-Rell of SoSik Soundz, Midus, Shonie, and J-Rock. Big Chuck and the whole Poe Boy Staff! Bet that up Jay Carter! I appreciate the love my nig! One Hundred!
