DJ Envy & Red Cafe: The Co-Op
Artist: DJ Envy & Red CafÈ Album: The Co-Op Label: Shake Down/Blok/Koch Records
It’s been a very long time since an MC and a DJ got together and did an album but at a time where everything seem to be the same in music DJ Envy & Red CafÈ seem to time this concept perfectly. Powered by the lead single "Dolla Bill" featuring Fabulous, where Red CafÈ shows everyone why he’s the newest act on Akon’s Konvict Music. From the start of the album "School Of Hard Knocks" Red CafÈ gets it in bar for bar and gives fans that feeling of that underdog who’s finally made it! As far as production is concerned I think this album was well put together clearly shown on "What it Be Like" to the Track Masters produced "Things You Do" along with my personal favorite "Buck Buck" featuring Sheek Louch, G Malone and Kool G Rap. A couple other key tracks on this album are "Dolla Bill" remix featuring Juelz Santana, Busta Rhymes, Sean Kingston, and Jermaine Dupri, "Ghetto Children" featuring Mr. Easy, and "Invincible".
