DJ Kronik & Rick Ross: Maybach Music
Artist: Rick Ross (Mixed by DJ KroniK) Mixtape: Maybach Music
In this game, staying consistent is a must with a new artist coming out just about every month and on Maybach Music Rick Ross shows that he has not stop grinding since his first single "Hustlin" hit the streets, but you don’t have to take my word for it. Just listen to Ross’s version of T.I.’s hit single "Big Shit Poppin" and Snoop Dogg’s "A Boss Life" as he displays that the boss is back and his second album "Trilla" is coming later this year. On "Shot To The Heart" Ross' raspy voice fits perfect over the soulful sample with lines like "Never snitch tattooed by Cartoon/somebody switch we all lose by my rules" to "How many people you bless/is how you measure success" not to mention my favorite line "My one liners rude as Don Imus". On Maybach Music, Ross showed me that if his new album "Trilla" is anything close to this, MTV will have to go back and mention him in that Top 10 Hottest artist today! Some more highlights to point out from the mixtape are "White House (remix)", "Cry", "I Choose You (freestyle)", and "Amusement Park (freestyle) which was a song that I hated from 50 Cent.
