After coming out of retirement and putting out Kingdom Come, critics started to talk and mention maybe Jay-Z was Jordan on the Wizards compared to the Bulls wearing that number 45, but after one listen to "Roc Boys" produced by LV and Sean C (of P.Diddy’s new Hitmen production Team) all the doubts & whispers must come to a end! American Gangster has to be some of Jay-Z’s best work right up there with Blueprint or The Black album. So at the age of 38 it seems that so things just never change judging by lines from "No Hook" Jay-Z pleads "Please Don’t compare me to other rappers compare me to other trappers/ I’m more Frank Lucas then Ludacris and Luda’s my dude I aint tryina diss/like Frank Lucas is cool, but I aint tryina snitch/I’m a follow the rules no matter how much time I’m a get/I’m a live and die with the decision’s I’m a pick/so fuck Dehaven for caving/that’s why we don’t speak, made men aint suppose to make statements" must I really go on?

The best rapper alive, Lil Wayne, even teams up with Jay on "Hello Brooklyn 2.0" and Nas pays a visit to let everyone know that everything that glitters aint gold on "Success" produced by Just Blaze. Before I used to say this album is a concept album, but after listening to "I Know" featuring Pharrell you’ll think it’s a party song when its really about heroin the main drug that made Frank Lucas (well played by Denzel Washington in the movie) a million dollars per day. Some other songs to bang out in your car or IPod is "American Dreaming", "Sweet", "Pray" and "Say Hello".
