Rumors are swirling that the long
absent and seemingly now crazy Lauryn Hill may be making a comeback in
the form of a biopic film on the marriage of Bob and Rita Marley. Rita
of course was the wife of Bob (and if you don’t know who Bob Marley is,
kill yourself) and the film would detail their 15 year marriage which
was very tumultuous and full of infidelities by the great Bob.
Rita
originally brought the story to the public in book form via 2004's "No
Woman No Cry: My Life With Bob Marley", which was a national best
seller. It is being said Lauryn has long wanted to play this role and
Rita is behind her as well. Apparently they both have been really
trying to convince the studio higher ups that she has what it takes.
What makes it even more likely Lauryn will land the part is that she is
married to one of Bob and Rita’s son's, Rohan Marley, and has all of
her kids by him.
It certainly makes sense to me as her mother in law is
the character! She certainly wouldn't have to do much research, that’s
for sure. All I know is Lauryn definitely needs to get back on her game
because honestly I had already given up on her.
