This past Thursday Cleveland Cavalier's player Delonte West was arrested in  Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Allegedly Mr. West was pulled over after cutting off a police officer while riding a Can-Am Motorcycle.

He was found to have possession of a 9mm Beretta pistol in his waistband, .357 Ruger strapped to his leg and a Remington 870 shotgun in a guitar case slung over his back. It is illegal to carry concealed weapons and transport loaded guns in Maryland.

Prince George's County police spokeswoman Sgt. Michelle Reedy said Friday the Cleveland Cavaliers player was arrested about 10 p.m. Thursday.

Why Delonte was riding out 'Desperado' style is still unknown...

Cleveland Cavalier's general manager Danny Ferry had this to say:

"We have been in communication with Delonte and his family. We are gathering more information and will not have further comment until the appropriate time."

States would have to let citizens keep and bear arms due to the second amendment to the United States Constitution, the right to keep and bear arms.

"It is illegal to carry concealed weapons and transport loaded guns in Maryland." This is false. It is illegal to carry concealed weapons and transport loaded guns in Maryland WITHOUT A PERMIT. The majority of the 50 states allow law-abiding citizens to apply for a Right to Carry (Concealed) permit. Maryland is one of them, although I heard they seldom approve applications. http://www.mdsp.org/services/licensing.asp If West would've had a valid permit, the most he would've gotten was probably a speeding ticket and/or reckless driving. Although I think it is illegal to carry a loaded shotgun on a public highway in Maryland, your article doesn't state if the shotgun was loaded or not. PLEASE GET YOUR INFO STRAIGHT. People are often misled regarding what is legal and what's not because of false information like this.
