It’s kind of ironic that after months of controversial drama surrounding Alfamega, a former Grand Hustle affiliate, he has released a new song entitled “I Apologize.” The song speaks on past mistakes that Alfmega has made as well as him accepting the responsibility for leading a life of crime and negatively influencing others to do the same.

“I beg every mother to forgive my sins,” he raps. “Not once, not twice, but over and over again/I come to you humbly to make amends/’Cause I have destroyed, the sons and mens/My selfish ways has blackened their heart/Turned ’em into monsters, lurk in the dark…I destroyed so much, please forgive me lord/And listen your honor, it’s not his fault/You can’t blame him for that body he caught/He was just reacting to what I taught/So give me his life sentence, and let him walk.”

He recently spoke with 2DopeBoyz about the seriousness of the song.

“This song, is an apology to anyone from age 8 to 80, that’s affiliated with or in any gang,” he wrote. “To every parent (mother or father) that has lost a child to gang violence, every sister, brother, aunt, uncle, cousin, partner or whomever that has lost a loved one or a friend to gang violence either by death or prison. Even if I never met you or have known you personally, I want to apologize for being the root of the evil that is plaguing the youth of today, & I beg you for forgiveness the same way i would beg GOD to forgive me for every sin that i have committed, because i am 37 years old now, & i have finally become to realize by watching my own children that i wasn’t teaching something positive i was only teaching negatively.”

The question is: Is it too late to try to redeem himself as far as Hip-Hop is concerned? Even though this song gives a positive message, can anyone move on from the Snitch rumors, whether they are true or not? The sad truth is probably not. Should Alfamega be held accountable and basically shunned by the Hip-Hop community or should the Hip-Hop community reevaluate what some may see as archaic traditions? Well we’ll see how this one pans out.

Lil Wayne Being Sued For Canceled Show

For some reason, Lil Wayne cannot seem to stay out of court. His most recent troubles stem from a canceled show that took place on September 27, 2008, in the Bahamas.

Red City Entertainment is suing the rapper and according to TMZ, Red City was offering Weezy some big money. HipHopDX states:

“According to TMZ, Red City had planned on paying Weezy $432,000 for the show, and had given him an advance of $210,000. However, Red City representatives allege Wayne was found in his hotel room “unconscious” at the time he was supposed to be performing.”

Cortez Bryant, Wayne’s manager, has spoken out against Red City stating that they were well aware of the cancellation. In a statement to AllHipHop.com he had this to say:

“Our show was set for September 26 last year. We arrived on time, ready to perform and learned that due to lack of payment from the promoters, the sound company they had hired packed up and left the venue before Wayne was scheduled to hit the stage. So they were forced to cancel the show. On those grounds, at that moment, they were in breach of contract and forfeited their deposit,”

Bryant also added that Wayne agreed to reschedule but the promoters failed to follow proper procedures that satisfied their contract.

“When I arrived at the venue, the security was horrible, causing it to be an unsafe environment and the sound system wasn’t up to our contracted standard.” Continuing, Bryant stated, “I then told the promoters Wayne wasn’t coming because they didn’t have their setup to a contracted standard for the second night in a row.”

Red City Entertainment is suing Weezy for $432,000 in the lawsuit and all of this could’ve easily been avoided. Well perhaps next time Wayne is passed out someone will get him some water and tell him to get his butt up on stage and perform!
