For years there have been allegations regarding Lil Wayne having a team of ghost writers and now, Cash Money Records co-founder Birdman a.k.a Baby, is speaking out against the rumors. Rappers Gillie the Kid (formerly of Cash Money Records) and Jaz-O have been two artists amongst the few that have claimed that Wayne does not write his own material.  According to Baby, all of Wayne’s material comes from his own mind and ghost writers are not even an option. Baby had this to say in an statement:

“C’mon, man,” Baby said when asked if Drake writes for the rapper.”Wayne don’t even write, man. Honestly Wayne don’t write. I don’t know how he do that sh*t he do, but don’t no n*gga do it for him. Wayne don’t play that shit, he never did. We ain’t with that sh*t. That’s cheatin’ to me, when you’re trying to be great. When you’re just an artist that wants a hot record, that’s something different, but when you’re trying to be great you ain’t bout to let no n*gga write for you, cause you don’t wanna lose none of the credit. Wayne wants to be the best to ever do it. To be the greatest ever takes your skillful thoughts, not another person’s.”

While Baby has spoken out regarding this situation, Lil Wayne has yet to speak on the ongoing allegations.

Wale Denies Rumors of Being Dropped From Interscope Records

Dr. Dre Sues Death Row Records

According to BET, rapper/producer Dr. Dre is filing a lawsuit against Death Row Records due to lack of payment regarding several projects he created while still co-owner of the label. Death Row is currently owned by WIDEawake Entertainment Group and according to TMZ, Dre is suing the label for $75,000.

“Though he parted ways with Death Row back in 1996, Dre has been carefully observing the profits being made from the digital sales of his 92 solo debut, “The Chronic” and the 2009 release, “The Chronic: Re-Lit” which featured a DVD and unreleased material from Dr. Dre. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Dre is suing WIDEawake/Death Row Records for $75,000.”

Neither Dre nor reps from WIDEwake/Death Row have yet to comment on this matter.
