Dr. Dre’s résumé was on full display in the video for “I Need a Doctor,” as montages of his time with N.W.A, Death Row and Aftermath were well represented.

While the video was being put together, members of Dre’s camp
contacted MTV News to secure footage of the producer over the years.
Here, we identify the three clips that were used, from him lounging
poolside in Los Angeles to making music with Eminem to kicking it with
Tupac Shakur on the set of “California Love.”

In the Studio With Shady
“I got the album. Nobody else does,” Eminem told MTV Radio prior to the release of Dre’s 2001.
“It’s hot, man, it’s hot. All I can say is — naturally, I’m gonna
sound biased, pluggin’ his album — the album is incredible and anyone
who doubted Dre, all you’re gonna do is listen to the album and just be
like, ‘Dre is back.’ ”

N.W.A Pool Party
“Me and [Ice] Cube have been talking for the last two weeks about doing an N.W.A album, and I’m really into it,” Dre told MTV News
in 1999 about a potential reunion. “He seems motivated. We talked to
[MC] Ren. Snoop would be the fourth member of the group. I think it
would be a hot project. Myself, Cube, Ren and Snoop would be
incredible.

“We’re gonna call the album Not Those N—az Again,” he added, “if and when it happens.”

“California Love” Set Visit
“Tupac was prolific from the time that he began writing, which was probably about 6 years old,” Tupac’s mother, Afeni Shakur, told MTV News
five years after the rapper’s death. “As long as there are unreleased
Tupac songs, there will be more albums. He didn’t change and start to be prolific, change and start to be good. Before he was murdered, he did a lot with his time and his life.”
