While Remy Ma is blogging about having a hard time behind bars, apparently Foxy Brown really can’t relate. Recent reports have been leaked online stating that Foxy received celebrity treatment while serving a little over eight months of her one-year prison sentence last year. However a corrections spokesman has denied the claims.

Reports of the special treatment accusations have been spread all weekend via the Internet. According to NBC Chicago:

“She spent her time prancing around in Gucci sneakers and a Fendi scarf, and when those got soiled, her jailhouse entourage brought her clean ones. Princess Foxy even got some free press for her new album and guards organized a photo shoot and interview with a magazine that featured Brown in time for the album’s release. Some people within the Department of Corrections are furious that guards jumped at the opportunity to be lackeys to Brown behind bars. And they say it’s not the first time a star gets an easy time behind bars, courtesy of corrections officers.”

According to The New York Post, Spokesperson Stephen Morello has explains the claims that Foxy was allowed to wear Gucci sneakers in jail and was even able to receive media interviews.

“Morello said yesterday (June 21) that Brown’s 2008 jailhouse interview and photo shoot with a hip-hop magazine, her sporting Gucci sneakers and a Fendi scarf in the prison, and purported extended visits in her cell with a chaplain fell within normal guidelines. “Inmates were entitled to wear their own clothing,” he explained. “That’s her choice. The interviews were approved by the [Department of Correction’s] Department of Media Services. We do it as a matter of routine.” He noted that The Post has conducted many interviews in city jails and that Brown’s lasted for about one hour, which is standard procedure.”

I find it quite comical that she would even wear those types of clothes in jail. It’s not as if she could go out to the club or had a hot date, well then again, maybe she did. It’s just interesting that she would blog about how so many things have changed in her life when she was getting the royal treatment and three cooked meals a day.  When Lil Kim went to prison they took her weave but Foxy wearing Gucci shoes? No weave but you can wear Gucci? Interesting! Well to each his or her own; it’s been over a year so there isn’t much anyone can do about it now.

Papoose Linked To Rikers Island Prison Fight

Speaking of Prison, rapper Papoose has reportedly been linked to a 2006 violent brawl taking place at Rikers Island. According to reports, Papoose allegedly signaled various gang signs during his concert performance which sent the prisoners into a frenzy, and even igniting a slashing during the rapper’s set.

The New York Post wrote:

“Hip-hopper Papoose put on a concert for low-risk inmates there in 2006, and two jailbirds were slashed in the face after he flashed gang signs. The Brooklyn-born rapper had demanded at the last minute that two of his buddies incarcerated at different jails be brought to see his concert in the George Motchan Detention Center’s gym. Jail officials initially scoffed, but Papoose threatened to cancel. High-ranking supervisors stepped in and permitted the transfer, sources said. During his set, Papoose flashed Bloods signs, one jail source said. Inmates affiliated with the Bloods erupted in cheers, the sources said. Suspected Bloods members slashed two prisoners in the face with razors after the concert.”

First plotting jail escapes now this? Last year Papoose made headlines after he was accused of trying to plan a jail escape for his “lyrical fiancé” Remy Ma. BET reported:

“Papoose, who denied any type of motive of planning to break out his wife to be, barked at reporters “I don’t walk to talk, get out of my face. You all write racist articles.” Remy Ma, who will now have to wait until she’s moved into maximum security at the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility in Westchester County to wed her lyrical finance, will be entitled to conjugal visits once the two tie the knot.”

My question is this, why would you throw up gang signs in a prison? That’s like a white man screaming the N word at a Black Panther meeting. I mean come on, did he honestly think nothing was going to happen?

As of yet, no legal charges have yet to be filed against Papoose but he has indeed been accused of igniting the fight. Perhaps Papoose just needs to stay away from prison, it’s just not a good look!
