As you’ve probably already seen, not only did Beyonce release the video for her brand new single, “Run The World (Girls)”, but we now have a cover visual for her upcoming album as well as the release date.
Loving the sexy cover! The album is has been disclosed as being due to hit shelves June 28th of this year, making it Bey’s second summer release, (the first being Dangerously In Love). As previously reported by us here at 24HourHipHop.com, the album title is an ode to the significance the number 4 has been to Miss Knowles-Carter’s life, i.e. her wedding date, her birth date and the fact that this is her 4th solo album. Here is a statement from her label Columbia Records on her return to the game:

“The album was recorded over a year between the spring of 2009 and
the spring of 2010, while Beyoncé took time away from the spotlight. She
engaged in what she describes as simple things, including listening to
every kind of music she truly enjoys. Her mixed musical gumbo will be
displayed on the upcoming album.

I’m not going to lie, I DO NOT like this first single. I’ve tried to and failed, however that video is spontaneous, daring, glamorous and has a deliciously defiant rebellion to it. I have a feeling the visuals will help “Run The World” creep up the charts and with good reason. With that being said, I’m excited for 4, are you guys?
