Nicki Minaj has become that international star that she been dreaming about for years. The release of her debut album, ‘Pink Friday,’ came with high appraise and much appeal. The album that was released under a joint venture with Young Money and Cash Money was officially certified platinum in just a short period time after the release. ‘Pink Friday’ has even garnered much appraise from the critics as many album reviews came in at least at three and a half stars amongst others. Two years ago, before a debut album was even thought about, Nicki Minaj was featured as a tour appearance on the first ‘I Am Music Tour’ and was on stage for a whole three minutes, now during its sequel, she has officially become a main headliner.

The Young Money femcee will grace the stage alongside her labelmate and CEO Lil Wayne, the Miami Don Rick Ross, and the celebrity drummer Travis Barker. Minaj recently spoke to MTV News about the upcoming tour and shared her thoughts.

These were her comments:

“Oh my God, I’m very excited to be touring with Wayne. The last time I toured with Wayne I was onstage for three minutes. Now I have my own set, I have my own lighting, my own costumes, my own dancers, my own everything. And this is what I’ve been praying for [for] a very long time.”

Between Nicki Minaj and Drake literally taking over the airwaves across the world, it was a real stress reliever to Lil Wayne knowing that both his artists continued to carry the baton while he was behind bars. Wayne even admits that Minaj was a great addition to the tour that he is itching to start. Lil Wayne even left his own comments about his risen star to MTV News sometime last month.

These were his comments:

“I can’t front, I just thought she was going to be the new female MC that none of these other female MCs can touch, but now, she’s blossomed into a megastar with this new attitude and this style. Now when I talk to her, I just tell her, ‘Do what you do, baby.’ I used to be able to go into the studio and say, ‘Nah, don’t say that, don’t say that.’ You know, ‘That was better.’ Now, do what you do, baby. I don’t have a clue about what you’re doing right now, but its working, do it.”
The ‘I Am Music Tour II’ will commence on March 18 at the HSBC Arena in Buffalo, New York and will continue on to select cities.
