10 years after his passing, Bad Boy Records continues to pay tribute to the label’s
flagship artist, with plans to release a Notorious B.I.G. Greatest
Hits album this March.

Bad Boy Records has announced that they will release Notorious B.I.G.’s Greatest
Hits on March 6, which coincides with the 10th anniversary of Biggie’s murder.
The album features 15 standout tracks from assorted B.I.G. releases and appearances
as well as two previously unreleased tracks.

"Christopher Wallace was more than an artist, he was my friend,"
Bad Boy CEO Sean "Diddy" Combs said via statement.
"The Notorious B.I.G., as most knew him was a rapper, a story teller and
a prolific poet. However many didn’t have a chance to see the father, husband
and man that I knew. Through his words, persona, life and music he was able
to open doors and create opportunities for hip-hop as a whole. I wanted to celebrate
his legacy, life and work as we mourn his senseless death 10 years ago. The
release of Greatest Hits makes it clear to the world why the Notorious B.I.G.
is the greatest rapper of all time."

Brooklyn’s Notorious B.I.G. died tragically on March 9, 1997 – the victim of
a shooting in the parking lot outside of a party being held at the Petersen
Automotive Museum in Los Angeles. Prior to his untimely death, Biggie Smalls
was touted as one of the greatest MC’s ever – his 1994 debut album Ready to
Die sold over four million copies and his sophomore album Life After Death released
just two weeks after his murder, went on to sell over ten million albums worldwide.
Bad Boy has previously released two posthumous B.I.G. albums, dropping the double
platinum Born Again in 1999 and the platinum-certified Duets: The Final Chapter
in 2005.

Notorious B.I.G. Greatest Hits will be available in stores on March 6, 2007.
