Stat Quo Confirms the Coming of ‘Detox’

Los Angeles, CA – It has been
going almost 8 years since news of the mythological ‘Detox’ album hit the media
and like a storm that eventually became a major headline for quite some time.
Years passed and still we await the release, but at any rate, any news about
the long awaited, long anticipated album, is good news.

Stat Quo,
who recently signed to Dream Big
Ventures
, spoke with MTV News
and dropped some credible knowledge for the fans that still believe and await
the release of an album, he says, ‘is not a myth.’ According to Stat, he has
been working closely with Dre on the
‘Detox’ project as well as his own for the past several months.

These were his comments:

“It’s definitely gonna come out, I always said it was
gonna come out in 2010 light years ago. I also at one point thought it would
never come out. Being around Dre and the energy that’s being created, all I can
say is that it’s incredible. It’s totally left-field from what’s going on — I
really appreciate what he’s doing as an artist. Even though from the outside
looking in, if I’m other people, I’ll be like, ‘What’s taking him so long?’ But
it’s gonna be worth every second, every hour, every minute. Every week, every
year we waited for the album.

The songs I’ve heard since I’ve been around are all really
special, it’s so important to hip-hop that this record comes. It’s our saving
grace. A lot of the radio stations are going rhythmic and going away from
certain types of urban music. You can only go to contemporary stations to get
certain soul-type music. The whole platform is changing. An album like his can
bring a boost to the music that’s going on.”

At press time, a scheduled
release date for ‘Detox’ has not been issued by Aftermath or Interscope.
As of now, it seems as though they will be looking for a late 2010, early 2011
release. This is said to be Dre’s final album.

Jay-Z Attends Barclays Center Groundbreaking Event in
Brooklyn

Brooklyn, NY – For quite some
time now, Jay-Z, who is one half
owner of the New
Jersey Nets, have
been boosting about moving his beloved Nets to his hometown of Brooklyn. For the past couple of years,
Jay along with his partners has been continually investing hefty amounts of funds
into the construction of the brand new arena to house the moving of the Nets.

This past Thursday (March 11),
Jay-Z was in Brooklyn alongside that of Beyonce,
the Rev. Al Sharpton, Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and the Governor of New York David Paterson at
the groundbreaking ceremony of the Atlantic
Yards
project, the chosen site for the new Barclays Center.

This was Jay said at the
podium:

“What I stand here and represent is hope for Brooklyn,
New York City. I’m a son of Brooklyn, I’m from Marcy projects, I think about
growing up in Brooklyn in the Marcy projects and shooting jump shots, thinking
I can make it to the NBA. Now I stand here as an owner of a team that’s coming
back to Brooklyn. The pride in that, and bringing that dream so much closer for
people, brings me so much pride I get a little nervous about it. But I’m very
happy, very excited about this day. And we did it again, Brooklyn — shout-out
to [Notorious] B.I.G.”

The 18,000-seat Barclays
Center is set upon opening sometime in 2011 with the anticipated move of the
Nets from New Jersey to Brooklyn. They are hoping that the move
will allow the Nets to begin playing at the Center for the 2012 – 2013 season.

This move for the Nets from
Jersey to Brooklyn has been in the works for quite a long time, hopefully the
move will occur soon and we’ll get to see the Nets represent Brooklyn to the fullest.
