“Frog niggas, y’all niggas/That’s that shit I don’t like/Yo shit, make believe/Rappin’ ’bout my own life”

Memo to frontin’ ass rappers: Pusha T is not here for nor is he amused by your fraudulent lifestyles.
In a candid interview with DJ Semtex at his very first solo set in the UK’s Garage, the other half of Clipse brought the tea on G.O.O.D. Music. In the 8:05 clip, Pusha T gives his take on why his label mates are in popular demand, his mind frame while rapping with Kanye West, and the prospect of a Cruel Winter album. He mentions that every hip-hop fanatics’ musical wet dream (read: the illusive Cruel Winter disc) is currently a “Kanye & Q-Tip” project despite having recorded “at least 20 tracks” that weren’t included on Cruel Summer.

On G.O.O.D. Music as a facilitator of competitiveness and creativity:
“When we get together we step out of our lanes–creatively. I tell people all the time, that G.O.O.D. Music is a thing where being around that many creative people its done nothing but sharpen my skills–honestly. Because when you’re rapping on songs with [Big] Sean, ‘Ye, 2 Chainz, Cyhi [the Prince] and Common–me being representative of the streets–I have to make sure my stuff sticks out like everyone else. I can’t be the one [who is] slacking.”
On his G.O.O.D. Music posse’ lyrical skills:
On Big Sean: “He’s real clever; he has the melodies going on.”
On Kanye West: “[He’ll] kill you with pop culture lines all day long.”
On 2 Chainz: “[He’s] the master of the one-liners in the club.”
On Cyhi the Prince: “[He has] dope lines.”
On Common: “[He’ll] rap you out of house and home.”
On his most competitive moment with G.O.O.D. Music:
“Rapping with Kanye. He’s one of those guys who has the ability to shade your ass to hell and back burn any body on a track…But it makes for great records especially ‘New God Flow”
On his mindset while spitting with Kanye:
“I don’t want to be a victim. Understand [that] my process is saying ‘I cannot be a burn victim.”
On a missed opportunity for another strip club banger brought to you by G.O.O.D. Music:
“[This story] speaks on the energy of the whole [G.O.O.D. Music] thing: Me and [Big] Sean were working on a record called ‘Trash Bags’ about some strip club shit. Common heard it and he was adamant about getting on it. And it’s not even his vein. He gets on it and murks it. It didn’t make the cut [to be featured on Cruel Summer] but that’s the type of fun [we have].”
On the rumor of G.O.O.D. Music releasing Cruel Winter:
“It’s a Q-Tip and Kanye thang; I’m not privy to those convos […] They have a collective sit down on the war of the minds.”
At this rate, do you think ‘Ye will release a Cruel Winter album?
