The NBA’s enemy No. 1 — Shaunie O’Neal — had a few words of response about the lawsuit filed by Miami Heat forward Chris Bosh against his child’s mother and Shed Media, the parent company of  VH1 hit Basketball Wives.

Shaunie O’Neal, who is the executive producer of Basketball Wives, said Chris Bosh’s ex-girlfriend, Allison Mathis, will not appear on the third season of the show and questioned Bosh’s decision to sue.

“Maybe people like wasting money on lawsuits, I don’t know,” Shaunie O’Neal told TMZ.

Chris Bosh filed a lawsuit against Mathis and Shed Media last Monday seeking an injunction to block her and the company from trademark infringement by using his name and disclosing private facts about his personal life according to the Associated Press.

The lawsuit states, “Though the reality television show is titled, ‘Basketball Wives,’ the featured women in the show are not the current wives of NBA players. Instead, the show follows the lives of women who are dating or who dated NBA basketball players or who were formerly married to NBA players.

The show “provides these women with a vehicle and worldwide platform” to use the names of players without permission for commercial gain.”

Can’t argue that Chris Bosh has a point. Jennifer Williams, the soon-to-be ex-wife of retired Boston Celtics player Eric Williams, was the last featured wife on the VH1 show. But the show continues to draw in favorable ratings despite holding little relevance to its title. It’ll be interesting to see how many more seasons this show lasts.
