After the release of Recovery, it seems as though Eminem is back on his grind officially. The Slim Shady that we are normally use to as in keeping a pace when it came to his music and his label, that was a ghost town for a while, is back and ready to take the world by storm a for a second round. Within only a couple months into 2011, Shady Records has gone through a serious transition.

There have been many rumors since the beginning of 2009 that Shady was looking to sign certain members that comprise Slaughterhouse. Interestingly enough, it wasn’t until 2011 that the rumors were finally brought to light. Eminem has officially signed the entire Slaughterhouse crew insisting of: Joe Budden, Crooked I, Joell Oritz, and Royce Da 5’9. Alongside them, Em also signed Alabama Emcee, Yelawolf.

Yelawolf recently spoke to Sway Calloway of MTV on their RapFix Live show. He recalled his first meeting with Eminem and the whole conversation was so casual. Em and Yela sat down and talked in Detroit after Em’s manager, Paul Rosenberg, and super-producer Jim Jonsin urge Em to listen to some of Yela’s music. According to Yela, both he and Em had similar upbringings and life experiences that Em eventually gave the young Emcee some great advice.

“I’m a drinker; I drink a lot. My management was concerned about some advice he could give me about slowing down so I don’t get caught up in that life. He told me if it gets to the point where you need a drink before you go onstage, like you require that to function, is when you need to check yourself. And honestly, that’s where I was at that point. And I’ve changed. I don’t drink before I perform anymore.”

Either way, Yela states that he will down a couple a beers, but he won’t take it to that extent where he will need to get to the edge of almost plastered before appearing on stage. After the conversation with Slim and the good advice, Yela states that his confidence has grown immensely, even to the point where he had the courage to play his debut album for Slim.

“I’m super excited about the music and fully confident that it’s jamming. I was a little nervous, but after we broke the ice and really chopped it up, he seemed excited about it. So that makes me twice as excited now.”

At press time, Yelawolf is still in the process of completing his debut album off of Shady, his first studio album in six years. As of the now, the album now will be entitled ‘Radioactive’ and set for release sometime during the summer of this year through Shady and Interscope Records.
