BankRoll: Thank you for taking the time to view my questionnaire provided by 24HourHipHop.com. My name is BankRoll aka Hustlers Dream..artist name simply BankRoll.
24: Before we get into your music, can you describe your history about how you got into and what inspired you?
Bankroll: I got into music because I felt the streets and the industry needed someone like me. Someone real who actually comes from the streets, some one self made , and really living that ‘baller’ rapper lifestyle. I’m a hustler and all i really do is chase paper. When ever it seems like there’s no way, I some how always find a way. I just get inspired and hope to one day be as wealthy as Birdman from YMCMB. shit, that’s somethin I always say ‘I wanna be Birdman rich’
24: What was the Hip-Hop scene like for you growing up where you’re from?
Bankroll:The Hip-Hop scene has always been slowly changing but depends on the crowds of homies u hang around with…
24: What makes you Unique as a artist and different from other rappers out now?
Bankroll: I’m BankRoll i’m me…I got that name by always being that fly dude that always got at least 2-3 bankrolls on his pocket…..I’m a very confident dude when it comes to my future, I’m a visionary and i am where i am at today financially because I have always been a hustler. and every real hustler knows how to make magic happen by belief, energy, actions and therefore u get results. but yea man i mean my swag and my look separates me from the rest…what really makes me unique is that I’m probably one of the first latino rappers in this trap music shit that is going to be make the moves imma make ALL independently ….
24: Tell us about what you are working on.
Bankroll:Oh man, I’m excited for the future and for whats to come . Hustle & Swag Entertainment is my label and thats the brand I’m goin to be pushing…i’m working on branding my brand in so many ways….i’m also looking for new artist to sign to grow this brand…i’m working on my first and own mix tape with Trap-A-Holics and Dj Spinz that will be released on 12-12-12 …i got some fire in that tape, from my own shit, producers, and features. I’m also working on dropping about a video a week on youtube and about 2 videos a month on world star …see wsup ..just trying to BALL on this mic, and see where it goes.
24: What producers have you worked with and who would you like to work with in the future?
Bankroll:I currently work with 3 producers like heavily i get most of my werk thru them.. one my very own producer out here in LA my homeboy Drift The Dean, i’m also working on some EDM (Electronic Dance music)Trap records with Drift The Dean…EDM Trap something i’m mos def going to start pushing…. I also work with SouthSide , and Nard & B. I would like to one day have the chance to work with Mike Will, KE on the track and Hit Boy.
24: Are you happy with the feedback you have been getting from people on material you have released?
Bankroll: Yeah I’m happy. A lot of people have given me good feedback…
24: In today’s free download age, what do you need to do to make yourself a household name?
Bankroll: One word LEVERAGE. what every successful and rich person needs is Leverage…i believe in the music industry u need to leverage of this viral movement man…really taking advantage of what the internet and the right marketing teams can do for u…consistency is important as well, and also staying relevant ….
24: How do you feel about the current state of the Hip-Hop scene?
Bankroll: I mean it depends….what type of hip hop you’re into.. but if you’re talking about whats hot …I feel like theres so much to learn and that there are a lot of people who are where they are because they deserve it..for example 2 of my favorite rappers 2 Chainz and Future…I remember always bumping them Future and 2chainz (Tity Boi) mix tapes in ma car before they actually blew up out here in the West Coast. a lot of my homies wouldn’t really understand why i was really feeling their music..but now they understand….now they took the time to listen and they see them buzzing out here so I guess that helps. i appreciate any hustler that spit some real shit on the mic tho, thats why u fucks wit Future and 2Chainz heavily. and Rocko.. 24: Outside of the music, what else are you currently working on?
Bankroll:I’m working on staying fly, and keeping my bands up. making more money so i can invest in my label and make it a household brand. but really tho, I’m just working on my self in getting better in being a ceo and an artist. lol it’s hard to say out of music, because I live, eat and shit this music shit.
24: Where do you see yourself going in 2012 and how do you plan to separate yourself from the other artist out today to get the recognition you feel you deserve?
Bankroll: By dropping a HOT mix tape with 2 of the most popular and my favorite DJ’s in the game…by continuing to have popular and my favorite producers in the game work with me. By being consistent online…and start working on getting a following.
