Bobby Brown is officially behind bars.

The 44-year old R&B singer turned himself in yesterday to begin serving his 55-day sentence for a DUI arrest on Oct. 12.- his second arrest in 2012. Besides the jail sentence, he is also required to complete an 18-month alcohol treatment program and will be on probation for four years.

Police saw Brown driving erratically around 1 a.m. the night of his October arrest; they smelled alcohol as they approached his vehicle. He was arrested and taken to the Van Nuys Jail.

According to the LA Times, Brown may only serve a little over a week of his sentence.

Sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore said Brown is likely to serve no more than nine days in the county jail due to jail overcrowding, along with time off for good behavior and credit for “good time work time.”

This was Brown’s third DUI conviction.
