One half of the legendary Underground Kingz is back at it again for a second go around bringing ‘II Trill,’ the sequel to his most successful debut. Even after the loss of his little brother Pimp C, he is showing the world that this is for Pimp. ‘II Trill’ explores Hip-Hop before it evidently went commercial; Bun B shows us that he can still keep it gangsta with a mixture of that good old southern feel. With a huge gathering of top notch producers and a collection of the hottest artists in the game most willingly featuring on the album, this makes a successful soon to be H-Town classic. The elements in production make up that true southern rap, hence the title ‘II Trill.’ With the lyrical matter, you already know Bun can bring it and bring it hard he does very well. He expresses a lot of issues dealing with the hood and especially vivid tributes to Pimp C.
The element that stands out the most on this album is the beats; he incorporates a lot of symphonic orchestration in his tracks. Alongside the beats, he delivers a powerful message in his lyrics as he never fails to give you a storyline with his smooth, yet catchy flow. With the many featured artists contributing to this veteran classic, the album itself delivers elements needed to make an essentially great Hip-Hop sound. Bun B successfully brings it back a second time for H-Town. Feature artists include: Sean Kingston, Lil Wayne, 8Ball, MJG, Rick Ross, David Banner, Lupe Fiasco, Jazze Pha, Juvenile, Webbie, Mya, Chamillionaire, Pimp C, Young Buck, Junior Reid, and Lyfe Jennings.
On the real, you need to pick up this album, the heavy bass orchestration beats extremely loud in your car. The lyrics have always been crucial for Bun B; his Trill storylines goes deeper into the relationship that he and Pimp C held. With a mixture of R&B, Hip-Hop, and Soul elements, this will definitely keep you nodding your head the whole time. Pop in the CD and let it flow, you might even understand his pain.
