Artist: Colosus
Album Title: Ahead of My Time
Label: Dade Fire Productions/KOCH
After a full time grind, Colosus manages to finally get his
hands on a distribution deal with Koch Entertainment. His highly anticipated
album entitled “Ahead Of My Time” hit stores everywhere last month on October
23rd 20007, so that means everyone needs to go out and support our
local artist. As the album begins
Colosus does not waste time to introduce himself as the future King of Florida
to the world. My first impression of the album was that it brought an old
school
vibe with a new school twist. One of the first bangers that came on was the CP
Hollywood produced “Drop Top Chevy” which is sure to rattle the trunks of many
Chevy’s across the states. Mr. Dade Fire then brings it to the club with the
bass filled party starter “They Watching.” As you continue throughout the album
The Future King of Florida touches on many album subjects from the seriousness
of hood politics to the many angles of death, other songs boast about looking
fly, riding clean while getting money while other tracks are made for the
ladies to vibe to while laying back relaxing, or for coming home from a night
on the town setting the mood for you and your favorite person. Another positive
aspect of the album is the production which really helps to break or make a
record. A couple of songs to check out production wise is the Caribbean
inspired track “Blood Money” produced by Deakon Scott, southern driven tracks
like “Worldwide” produced by CP Hollywood which is one of my favorites and one
of the hottest off the album. Other songs to look out for are, “Cutting
Corners,” “Tonight,” “24-7 Grind,” “Sticking to the Script,” and last but not
least “Until Tomorrow.” “Ahead Of My Time” is definitely worth purchasing because
you are getting your full money’s worth with a FULL 20 track album.
