Artist: Jeremih
Album: Self-Titled
Label: Def Jam
Before listening to Jeremih’s self-titled debut album I wasn’t really sure what to expect, but after the first couple of records I was definitely paying close attention. From the albums opener “That Body” to every women’s favorite song right now “Birthday Sex” to “Break Up To Make Up” which is a record I can absolutely relate too. The entire album was produced by Mick Schultz and written by Jeremih which is rare these days for a new R&B artist especially under LA Ried who has artists/writers like Ne-Yo and The Dream. There are a lot of records that will remind listeners to The Dream such as “RunWay” and “Jumpin”. Then records such as “Starting All Over” will separate him and give people a chance to get to know Jeremih and what he’s bringing to the music world all on his on with one producer. My personal favorite on the album would have to be “My Sunshine” from the song message to the mid-tempo beat and “My Ride” for when I’m leaving or pulling up to the club. Key tracks to look out for are “Imma Star” and “Hatin’ On Me“.
