Artist: Ne-Yo
Album: Year Of The Gentleman
Label: Compound/Def Jam

Normally the say the third time is the charm but in Ne-Yo case this statement worked against him then for him. Surprisingly after writing hits and maintaining to back to back hot albums Ne-Yo seems to cool off. I was more then surprised when I put in a album for Ne-Yo and started skipping to the next tracks. Before you knew it the album was over and I had heard all of the records I liked such as “Closer”, “Nobody”, and “Miss Independent” which is the best track on the entire album to be real. I’m not sure what happened this time around especially when there is a remix out for “Miss Independent” featuring Jamie Foxx and Fabolous which is not on the album but has a video? Records like “Single” produced by Pollow Da Don and my personal favorite “So You Can Say” are hot records but feel like a normal album filler to a classic Ne-Yo album compared to his first two albums. “Why Does She Stay” and “Lie To Me” rounds out the album and makes it still worthy to pick up combined with the smash single “Miss Independent” but a less then hot album for a singer/writer like Ne-Yo.
