Comebacks are always a hard thing to do. Fortunately for former Pretty Ricky member Pleasure P, he also has his alter ego, Mr. Marcus Cooper, to help him out. Coming strong with his debut album, The Introduction Of Mr. Marcus Cooper, Pleasure lets it be known that he can handle the weight on his own, delivering an overall impressive album. Giving us a more mature side as evidenced by the album title, Pleasure gives us him over 12 tracks. Although you may think of Pleasure as a pure bump n grind music maker the album surprisingly also lets us know a little more about Mr. Cooper, the man behind the music.
Starting off with “I’m a Beast” Pleasure sings to a young lady letting her know just how he handles his. The single “Boyfreind #2” comes next and provides the main steam for this engine. Other tracks such as “Tender Roni” and “Fire Lovin” also obviously cater to the female crowd and mostly provide Pleasure more room to brag about his stroke game.
On the rest of the tracks though Mr. Cooper gets his time to shine and lets us know what it’s been like on this up and down journey called the music game. “Illusion” and “Dream In The Air” are both standout tracks which do show a different side to the young man and let the audience know there is always pain to accompany the Pleasure.
Solid production and surprisingly well crafted songwriting skills make this an overall winner. With this as an introduction it looks like Mr. Cooper may be here for awhile. Now if he could just holla at his former homie spectacular about those dance videos…
