Trey Songz maybe just one of the most under rated singers of my time, and his album sales does not equal out to his talent. With his third album “Ready” dropping I was hoping that Trey finally had an explosion and everyone tuned in and bought his album or his buzz leading up to his album release was something similar to Drake’s mixtape. Setting off things with his lead single “Brand New” it was really more like a teaser of what was to come and was quickly followed up by the ladies favorite “I Need A Girl“. On records such as “Does He Do It“, Trey shows listeners that he can go from an uptempo track right into “Black Roses” which is about coming to terms with losing love in a relationship that has died to “Love Lost” where he speaks on getting that special someone back. Most artist that put out three albums with no huge numbers really don’t get this far in there career. So, I really respect Atlantic Records for sticking it out with Trey and growing with him as he grows and making great music regardless of the results shown on key songs like “Your Side Of The Bed” and “Be Where You Are“. Other highlights on “Ready” are “Hollalude“, “One Love” and “Ready To Make Luv“.
