Mixtape: Diamonds Are Forever

The Miami Diamond Princess, Ms. Trina, has returned to retake the game by storm with her brand new mixtape entitled ‘Diamonds are Forever.’ Diamonds must be forever because after a decade within the game, Trina can still rock the fans with any of her material whether brand new or classic. She can flow on any beat, no matter the producer, that has been known as one of her best qualities, besides her ability to always carry a crowd. On this new mixtape, she really brings in the production as her lyrics seriously flow over them like water. Trina blasted back into the game regaining her spot as the Diamond Princess and this time she bought a full arsenal of production. This mixtape is just a prelude of what’s to come on her forthcoming album.

With heavyweight producers like Mr. Beats, J-Rock, Collipark, CP Hollywood alongside many others, the sound is versatile and definitely brings out Trina’s style immaculately. Even with features ranging from T-Pain to Rick Ross, Brianna, Black Dada, Brisco, Maino, Mya, Teairra Mari, Veronica V, and Nisha Rockstarr, this mixtape seriously goes in and reintroduces Trina back into the game as the same baddest chick who ruled the airwaves just a couple of years ago. If you’re a native of Miami, then you have to represent for hometown, I mean Trina’s always had it, this shows that she hasn’t lost it.

With a mixture of club joints to joints for the ladies, the lyrical matter alongside the sound production gives Trina a whole new outlook on how she wants to delivery her music to her fans for the 2011 and beyond.

Ghetto featuring T-Pain (produced by J-Rock)
She came hard on ‘Ghetto’ with the vocal assistance of T-Pain. This was the lead buzz single into the release of this mixtape. Between her verses and the hook, Trina provides that additional flare to her delivery adding more to her already spunky attitude. This track is already in heavy rotation in the clubs for that reason.

Hit It Right (produced by CP Hollywood)
Shout outs to CP Hollywood for that amazing beat. Trina bounced her delivery all over that track. It is just me or does CP capture Trina’s sound every time they collaborate together. Trina seriously to do more tracks like this, the track is definitely something the clubs need to add fuel to that fire.
iPhone (produced by Collipark)
Besides giving great product placement for Apple, this showcases that her delivery was definitely on point. Whenever Trina can flow pivotally with the beat giving it more a bounce with a follow through, her signature style is definitely portrayed heavily.

Can I (produced by Snatch & Grah)
From past tracks, it is real obvious that Trina meshes well with any female R&B starlet. With providing music that the ladies can relate to, she brings it with this track with plenty of vocal assistance from the beautiful Mya. Production duo Snatch & Grah provided a sound that matches both Trina and Mya amazingly. Damn, Mya needs to come like that more often. The collaboration between the two was honestly a great idea.

Beautiful Body featuring Brianna (produced by J-Rock)
J-Rock killed it with that beat, while Trina and Brianna came hard with them verses. Between the lyrics and the beat, the song is a certified banger. The hook within itself could sell the song all on its own. Yet another club joint that this city and every other city is missing.

Amazin’ featuring Black Dada
Black Dada came with that hook and that bridge. This has got to be the next single off of this tape; it has single, radio quality written all over it. Trina was also on point with the lyrics atop the real catchy beat. Give it less than a week; I guarantee you, the clubs will have this in heavy rotation in no time.

Rich Bitch featuring Veronica V & Nisha Rockstarr (produced by Thunda Tracks)
As soon as the beat drops, Veronica came correct with that hook, her voice meshes with the beat quite well, another track that Trina bounces on with style and precision. Nisha Rockstarr even adds her flare to the track giving it more attitude. This track is definitely for the ladies to ride out to when they’re on their way to the club riding down I-95. I can see video already, ‘Nails did, Hair did, looking fly, ride out to the club in style.’

All in all, this mixtape is seriously on point. With a mixture of sound and substance, different genres all around provide fans with a little of everything. Trina gives you her all through different tracks, whether it was made for the club, for you to vibe to, or for anyone to relate to. The tape definitely has bangers that you can bump to in the car, track by track. If you’re a fan of Trina and you missed her, then she’s back and she’s back with some serious fire, there’s no denying that.
