Tempers are flaring with all the remix’s to Big Sean’s “Control” sparked by Kendrick Lamar‘s self proclaiming verse. People mainly responded directly back to Kendrick on their verses, however Joe Budden‘s response verse had a diss in there for Trinidad James and Joey Bada$$.
Joe Budden says, “this ain’t for bandwagon fans, sit ya asses in the same spot, y’all the same niggas that made Trinidad James hot.” in his verse. At his release party for his new album “10 Pc Mild” Trinidad James responded to his diss in an interview with Randell from Ga Followers by saying “It’s all love, I mean,I make music to answer a lot of those types of questions. I don’t consider it as a diss. I’m from the streets so a nigga talking is like a nigga talking. A nigga punching, you don’t like me, then you fight me. That’s why I make the songs to let you know, if you don’t like me, then you can fight me. I’m never going to diss you back, we gonna throw these hands back and forth. That’s all this is about, so it’s all love and I’m good”. So we will see if this escalates into an actual fist fight but until then Trinidad isn’t taking anything to seriously because he knows the scene.
Joe Budden was most likely just talking to talk like Trinidad James was saying because he has an interview with Hot 97 from December of 2012 right after Trinidad had his first big hit and recognition with “All Gold Everything“. Joe Budden talked about how his new song was “taking the nation by storm” and that he tried to fight it but ended up liking it and saying “Ya I was trying to bring my man Trinidad out” when responding to why he was contacting him.
Joe Budden through one at Joey Bada$$ by saying, “Some of these OG’s I laugh at, y’all don’t know me to half ass, To me it’s just one Joey that’s bad ass.”. Joey Bada$$ decided to respond in a short and sweet way by tweeting “Unphased by Joe Buttin” which was a surprise to many after his infamous rants that he has had in the past.
