The BET awards are coming up and the nominees were released recently.  The list reveals Kendrick Lamar as the most nominated artist, hitting hard with 14 nominations.  Drake was just behind him at 13 nominations and J. Cole with 10 nominations.  Krendrick responded to this by saying, “It’s a privilege to be a part of it. For the most part, BET always acknowledges my talent and I always hold that as an honor, so I’m blessed.”.

Kendrick Lamar has been a hot topic lately after his verse on Big Sean’s “Control” that revived raps aggressive roots and hitting the radio playlist consistently with hits this last year.  Kendrick Lamar has rapidly climbed up to the top in this last year and is a familiar name and voice to everyone who listens to hip hop, selling over a million of his album  “Good kid, m.A.A.d city

The BET music awards airs on October 15nth at 8pm, taking place at Atlanta’s Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center.  Snoop Dogg will be hosting the award ceremony for the first time and should be a god one to watch.  It will be interesting to see if Kendrick Lamar comes through with some actual awards.
