WSVN Channel 7 News reported that Rick Ross’ car crash on Las Olas Boulevard in Ft. Lauderdale may have been staged.

As stated earlier, Ross crashed his Rolls Royce into an apartment in an attempt to avoid 20 rounds of bullets that were fired at his car that included his girlfriend, Shanteria L. Moragne-el.

The incident occurred early Monday morning and received local coverage once neighbors began calling 911 and reported it.

However, in light of the attempted murder, reporter Kevin Ozebek—along with the Twittersphere and nemesis, 50 Cent–reported that the drive-by shooting may have been the result of a publicity stunt for Ross’ upcoming album, Mastermind.

Ozebek said the incident is currently under investigation by Ft. Lauderdale’s police department, and they’re encouraging the public to come forward with any information on the incident.
