24: The last time we spoke you had just put out your first single “CashFlow” so looking back to when you first recorded that record did you ever think that you would have got this much of a huge response?
Ace Hood: Actually, no man I wasn’t expecting the unexpected. Being that I’m a new artist when you create a record your not really sure how things will turn out, I felt like it was going to do something by how big DJ Khaled was saying the record was but after going all across the world and seeing the responses I got was really overwhelming. Until then I never new it was that huge.
24: Where do you get your work ethic from because I always see you and Khaled on tour, performing at clubs thats major to the locals, Worldstarhiphop Blogs, to your latest Docuementary and of course Jordan Tower Videos especially when I can name artist that has been in the game for years that have not showed this type of effort?
Ace Hood: Basically, man Khaled is like that fuel in me. Every body that knows Khaled knows how hard he works and my being his artist my work ethic is 2x that. It’s a lot of artist in the game and for us to best the best we have to go extra hard to get to that point. I look at it like inspiration of knowing what I can become so thats really where it comes from! You have to work to be the Best……..
24: What can the people expect to hear from your album “Gutta”?
Ace Hood: They can expect to hear a classic album. It will be one of the biggest albums of the year and they can expect it to hit store Nov.18 so go and get that. The people will get real life music on their, people music from a young nigga point of view. Real street music and real motivation music!
24: After a huge single like “CashFlow” you came right back and show any critics that you can make big records constistanly with “Ride” featuring Trey Songz and produced by The Inkredibles so tell me how did that record come about and how have the ladies been reacting so far to it?
Ace Hood: They record is crazy. We thought of the concept first then I put them hit lyrics on there and we sent it to Trey Songz. Trey did the hook and put a hot bridge on there and we got it popping.
24: Who are some of the producers and artist you worked with on this album?
Ace Hood: I got the Inkredibles on, of course The Runners, Nasty Beatmakers, Drumma Boy, Gold Rush and Cool & Dre. We got a lot of big names on the album its a classic trust.
24: What are so other projects your working on right now I know you just put out your latest mixtape “All Bets On Ace” Hosted by DJ Khaled and your on his “We Global” album as well that just hit stores?
Ace Hood: Of course I’m on DJ Khaled album and I’m about to drop another mixtape so look out for that for the streets and give them a lot bit more before the album.
24: A lot of people know about you and We The Best Music but not a lot of people know about “Dollaz N Dealz” so speak about that and let them know what they should look out from you guys in the near future?
Ace Hood: Dollaz N Dealz is the future man. Its a local label that I was with before my deal and they still with me till this day! We are actually signing artist as we speak right now and we have a couple of artist already that will be coming out soon. Dollaz N Dealz is going to be that next “We The Best Music” that next “Poe Boy” that next biggest thing. So after my situation is good over at We The Best, we’ll be coming with that heat we have our own producers like 4Fifth, VD so look out for them doing there thing. Were going to put out solo albums compilation albums etc.
24: What’s the best way for everyone to keep up to date with everything your doing?
Ace Hood: Pretty much hit up that Myspace (www.myspace.com/acehood) page we keep it updated with everything I’m doing but I feel like you can pretty much check any website out there and you’ll find me on there right now, I’m working that hard. You can go on the Myspace page and hear all of my latest freestyles and the new mixtape.
24: Any last thoughts you want to leave the readers with?
Ace Hood: Classic album of the Year, I’m already “Rookie Of The Year”. Big up to Dollaz N Dealz we out here!
