24: How long have you been producing and how hard was it for
you as an up and coming producer trying to get into the industry?

Arnaz: I have been producing and taking it serious back when
I was in high school in about 1996 and of course it was hard because I ended up
only signing with CTE until 2006. It was a 10-year grind trying to hustle and
networking that’s the key right they’re networking. Also with me I ‘m kind of a
quite person a going up to people I don’t know that was a problem for me and I
think that’s why it took a little longer. So for up coming producers open your
mouth because a closed mouth don’t get fed!

24: What was your first beat that you produced that really
got things rolling for you?

Arnaz: The first beat I did that got stuff rolling is the
song off the USDA album “Pam” because that track was the first track Jeezy
grabbed and did something to.

24: How did you end up becoming CTE go to in house producer
and end up producing a bulk of the USDA album?

Arnaz: My manager Nick Love at the time was head of
marketing & promotion and he introduced me to Kinky B and I played him some
beats and he was feeling me and obvious Jeezy had to listen to the beats also
make sure everything was cool and from there it just popped.

24: Let’s talk about the single you produced “Corporate
Thiggin” that beat is one of my favorite beats out right now so take me behind
the scene and the making of the beat?

Arnaz: The making is crazy because when they was working on
the USDA album I was determined to get a lot of songs on there that I would
show up to sessions that were not even my sessions. I would just hang out at
the studio and listen and one night Jeezy and them was talking about where they
wanted to go with the album and stated they needed an anthem. So with my music
background I can take an idea that someone wants and make it happen so the next
day I got up and went into the room because I have a studio at the crib and
everything started flowing then the chorus came and it got bigger and bigger.
That same night I ran it down to the studio and gave it to Jeezy and told him I
had an anthem for him.

24: What’s your favorite beat that you did to date?

Arnaz: My favorite beat to date that I did is actually a
song of mine that I did, no one ever heard it because I never played it for
anyone. Most producers know that you need artist to rap to your stuff and if
you don’t have that you end up rapping to it yourself. It’s called “Shine” and
its something I did when I was rapping so no one heard but I probably could
flip it up and sell it now.

24: So do you ever want to come out as an artist?

Arnaz: It’s a hunger deep down in me that makes me want to
go back to it but it’s not something I want to now because I want to establish
myself as an producer because that’s what I do, it might happen though.

24: Who are some of the artist you have been working with
lately?

Arnaz: God, has blessed me man and CTE is cool with every
body so I have been working with everyone but I like to keep the media attention
focused on my crew so with that said BloodRaw album, Young Jeezy third album,
Slick Pulla album. Also some partners of mine Rock City which is Akon’s group
they write a lot of songs on my beats that we sell to a lot of different artist
in the game so I am really working with everyone but like to keep the attention
on home team.

24: Not sure if you watched MTV’s Top 10 hottest rappers in
the game today and Young Jeezy made the list but when they mentioned him they
spoke about his swagger more then his lyrics which I think he is under rated
for and his work ethic. So for someone who has worked with him and who is
around him tell me how you feel?

Arnaz: First and foremost I don’t believe in working with
artist that I don’t like if I never liked the artist or the movement that you
have I don’t want to work with you because I am not a prostitute to this music.
I don’t do it to just sell it here and there. So with Jeezy I remember when he
was first starting his movement I would get his mixtapes since then. Plus if
you compare the “Corporate Thuggin” verse to another verse from the past you
can hear the difference and growth and his work ethic I never seen someone work
like him. He’ll be in the studio all night till the morning and I’ll be damn
near ready to go home!

24: What’s next in line for you and what should the fans
expect from you in the near future?

Arnaz: Working on this show was putting together called
“Behind The Boards” and it’s me going around and interviewing other producers
in the game. So it’s like the young producer getting blessed by the older guys
that has been doing it in the game that’s something I have been working on. I
got songs coming because I’m not a gimmick and your not going to hear one song
and say where this guy went I have been a musician before I became a producer
so its really nothing musically that I cant do!
