24: Through all of
the years since you came into this music industry you have been relevant year
after year which is something not many artists’ can do?
B.G.: I work hard man and try to grind for myself and
everyone around me. It’s a lot of people who I take care of and support period
whether it’s with money or just by my actions as a boss and leader. I think I
put out music that the streets relate to and once the streets ain’t going no
where B.G. ain’t going no where!
24: How did you new
deal with Atlantic Records happen?
B.G.: I think they saw the resume which spoke for itself
album after album independently doing my thing. The boy T.I. put in the word
and added to the project and now we here with the whole Chopper City thing
taking off.
24: You recently did
a Gangsta Grillz mixtape with DJ Drama so tell the people about that?
B.G.: Yeah, it’s called “Hood Generals” if you ain’t
got it yet kill ya self! We got together and did the damn thing. I needed that
Gangsta Grillz look and felt like it was only right to do it big to go along
with the new deal shout out to DJ Drama for that too.
24: What should the
fans look forward from this album?
B.G.: The same B.G. I’ve been giving them those hits since day
one when I stepped off into this bitch. I fuck with my Hot Girls and they fuck
with me. I got love for my street niggas and they got love for the gizzle!
24: T.I. will be
executive producer on the album right?
B.G.: Yeah, when the deal went down we decided the both of
us was going to get together for this album. I respect what he does and he
respects what I do so its works for the both of us.
24: Did his legal
situation push back your project?
B.G.: It did but we still moving forward. Shit like the
video he couldn’t be there etc but you see we still shot the video. He back now
and doing better and things are back on track as we speak.
24: Do you have a
title for the album as yet?
B.G.: It’s called “Too Hood 2 Be Hollywood” should
be out this year so be on the look out for that and Chopper City Boyz.
24: Who are some of
the producers you have been working with so far?
B.G.: I got J.R. Rotem on that bitch, Justice L.E.A.G.U.E.,
I did a joint with Drumma Boy, The Runners, Lil C and some up and coming
producers as well.
24: What advice would
you tell an up and coming artist trying to get into this game?
B.G.: If you ain’t ready to grind and hustle for yourself
please don’t do it. If you just in it for the fame don’t do it because that
shit don’t last forever and you fuck around and be broke. Get you paper and
promote your own shit bra.
